I wonder how many people have zipped buy this tiny plaza, saw the name, and thought just another pizza place. That's exactly what I've been doing and it was a mistake. This is one fancy pizza place and as others have said it almost seems too fancy. Don't be put off. Stop in and check out this delightful BYOB. Yes you can get a pizza and some are quite unusual. How about Pizza Fiesta- Grilled chicken avocado, crispy bacon, lots of pico de-gallo, romaine lettuce, mozzarella and Gouda cheese, and secret sauce ($14.99 or $19.99). You can also get surprisingly different pasta dishes. Try Mariscos Palo- Scallops, butterflied shrimp, skewered together on two sticks and fried crispy, served on a bed of spaghetti, tossed with fresh tomato, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, and parmesan cheese ($16.99). I've tried the pizza and I've sampled a Panini and both have been excellent. This is a decent place to visit and a definite change from your typical pizza joint.

What a great lunch! My daughter had the Tonno Fresco tuna and guacamole special, which was as pretty to look at as it was to eat. I had my favorite Greek salad. We both had soup, and also brought home a meal for the hubby. At $45, it was a wonderful meal for a very fair price. Steve, our server, could not have been better. I'm not a frequent Yelper, but had to add a shout-out. I suspect the one-star reviewers caught the restaurant on an off day, or we're having a bad day themselves! Looking forward to many more great meals at Fresco.

Great place to eat in, take out, or have delivered. Have healthy alternatives such as whole wheat pasta and pizza crust--also use fresh ingredients. I've ordered their pasta a few times and it was way over cooked. That's the only complaint though. Very attractive guys that work here

Pizzas with tons on them! So much on the pizza that the flavors of bacon or chicken or avocado sometimes get lost in the mix. I still enjoyed the conglomeration! Delicious and reasonably priced. I only wish it were warm enough to sit outside, the patio looked very comfortable! This is a family restaurant, so bring the children. Lastly, the staff was professional and prompt.

I was pretty confused by Fresco. They seem to be torn between trying to be a trendy, Italian-influenced restaurant that could charge a little more for their food and offer a nicer dining service in return; and being a cheaper, Cosi-style eatery. The restaurant was dark (except by the windows) and large with high ceilings; it is very casual. You walk in and read over the large menu for awhile while multiple staff members wait for you to order behind the counter (which feels a little awkward). You grab drinks from refrigerated cases and sit down and they bring the food out to you. Their menu consists of more upscale items that seemed out of place at a restaurant that doesn't offer waiter service, as well as things you would find at a sub shop or pizza place. The quality was decent- my bruschetta was good, and everyone else was moderately satisfied with their choices, although no one was raving about their food. I would consider coming back here if I was in the area just because of the wide range of options- there seems to be something for everyone, and they definitely offer more than a typical casual Italian-influenced place. However, I didn't like that they seemed split between two visions for what their restaurant could be- it felt awkward standing in front of the counter reading off of menus while the cashiers stood around idly, waiting for you to order. However, the food was brought out fairly quickly, and the prices were reasonable.

We got seated by he hostess at an outside table where they forgot about us for 10+ minutes. When a party ofI 4 seated themselves and was immediately served by a waitress, while we sat unserved, we left. If you can get the food, it can be pretty good.

I love this spot. Its a great little BYOB which is always great. The prices are very good. The pizza is amazing fired to perfection. The meals are just as great. It is nice and roomy inside and I have always gotten a table fast. In the summer you can sit outside, it is nice even though you are right next to the parking lot. Great date night spot or a little group of friends.

This place has been updated a lot since my last visit several years ago. Came here for lunch with my girlfriends and we were pleased with the food and ambience. It's now set up to order at the counter and sit down and they bring the food to your table. All of our selections were very good, decent a portions, fresh ingredients and a good selection. I recommend the soup/sandwich lunch special. It's BYOB, will Definately come back for mimosas!

A bit overpriced and underwhelming. The decor is very nice and service was fine, but the Steak Quesadilla was $10.99 (plus .65 - very cheap actually - for a small side of guac). It tasted OK but for $12 ($15 with tip) that's a bit steep. I would come back but I will not be running back there.

A sentimental fav because my brilliant, talented and beautiful BFF (who has impeccable taste in all things) introduced us to this BYO. The dining room is surprisingly contemporary, even edgy, for this part of town. Very refreshing for suburbia. We have never been disappointed by any dish here. Our "go to" choices are the salmon with mango salsa and the roasted veg panini. The panini is so generously-sized that I get at least two meals from one sandwich. The restaurant happily wraps the extras (and has a robust take-away business). The waitstaff is attentive and gracious. A terrific little gem if you are in Delaware County.

Stopped here for dinner on a Friday night. There were plenty of tables available inside, but outside was full. We have been here several times, but will not be coming again. Food was alright but waited 45 minutes. Never had our drinks refilled and waited 10-15 minutes for our card to be charged.

My dad and I came here as we were driving through the area and realized how famished we were. The was place was deserted for a Sunday afternoon and the service was surprisingly slow. Our waitress was more interested in chatting with coworkers than getting us drinks. Aside from that, the food wasn't bad. We ordered the cheese quesadillas which were MEGA cheesy, a caesar salad and the bruschetta. Def ordered way too much for the two of us. All in all, the food wasn't bad but it was def on the pricier side.

Relatively small BYOB Pizza joint in Newtown Square along 252 just up the road from Delaware County Community College. I was here on a busy Friday night but luckily my family was seated in just a couple minutes. Food was fantastic, the brushetta appetizer my family ordered was fantastic along with my entree, a BBQ chicken stromboli. My only complaints are that with the place being relatively small and the seating fairly close together, it can get loud. Also, I'm not too big on single toilet restrooms because when the place is busy, you end up having to wait to use it. But other than those minor things, it's a great restaurant and is definitely worth checking out. Makes a great dinner and a movie spot with the Regal Edgmont which is a short drive away.

I was really hesitant to order from here because of the 3/5 review score, but honestly I'm glad I went with this place. I got the fiesta pizza which was REALLY good and a plain which was decent for a plain. They delivered during a snowy day to my house located on a unplowed hilly street. Bottom line; if you need a pizza that's reasonably good and you're not going to try to compare it to a slice in Philly on NYC, order from this place.

Good food, but wait is forever. Was here a year ago and the same thing happened. Young staff needs better training in coordinating service and kitchen needs to figure it out.

Sloppy, unappealing food, plates served were all chipped. The lunch "semi-service" is a joke. Don't understand the place anymore.

This is a favorite local haunt and I admit that being local is part of the appeal. having said that the food has never disappointed me. The pizza is the best around by far. Other menu Items have never disappointed and include some healthier options that are also delicious. BYOB is always high on my list it always keeps the cost down. I love the buzz of the place (i hate quiet restaurants) and the art work gets a huge thumbs up from me.

This little BYOB in Newtown Square is a favorite of mine and the wife's. The Kota Kabob's are our favorites, Tender whole pieces of chicken on a skewer with grilled onions and peppers. Comes with the vegetable of the day and a scoop of rice. We always get the fried Mozzarella to share. I have also tried the wings, which are delicious, and the pizza is quite good as well. They serve quite a variety here from bar food, to sandwiches, to pasta to steak, chicken and fish. When the weather permits make sure to grab a table outside.

Great place! Newtown Square has a few good restaurants but overall, delco is not the spot to get good eats at arms reach. Not fine dining or your typical pizza joint, fresh and maturely hip. The good: My latest was chicken tacos for lunch, yum. The margarita pizza is signature. Bello burger with homemade chips or fries, yum. Chicken Caesar or salmon mango salad, yum. Mozzarella wedges, or whatever, yum. Calamari, and the list goes on. Service, food quality, prompt delivery given reasonable notice. The bad: not much, your own ignorance could be the biggest let down. Sometimes delivery orders are messed up, do not rush them on the phone, don't let them rush you, be specific. Tips: The place gets busy, plan ahead or you'll be upset. Be patient. If something goes wrong, be honest with the staff.

Wish I could give negative stars for this excuse for an Italian restaurant, Fresco Pizza. The list of reasons to stay away is long. Rude staff Very overpriced, mediocre food Lack of flavor I think this is a busy restaurant because folks have few options nearby. But I would keep driving to get to somewhere with better food, service and value. I mean $16 for a small personal pizza that is no better than a grocery store pizza is more than a bit ridiculous. No bread offered after orders taken, no water refills offered, no menus given when we sat down, surly wait staff who rudely told us to be patient because they were busy, no apologies for being given a water glass that had a crack that went around the glass 360 degrees, opening the wine away from view, fixing a shaky table while it had glassware on it, delivering the check without acknowledging doing so, automatic gratuity added to the check, and charging for removing chicken from a pasta dish are just some of the reasons I will never return. Good Luck to you if you choose to ignore this advice. It cost me $$ and a bad experience; I am trying to save you from the same fate.

I'm not one to take to Yelp to whine and complain, but Fresco Pizza is the bane of my existence. There's nothing I'd love more than to say this place is the greatest. It's within a stone's throw of my house and to have even a remotely decent restaurant that close is a blessing. The food is remotely decent, arguably good. The problem is that they never have half of the stuff on their menu and when you get delivery, it's NEVER right. I'm not kidding, we've ordered delivery 3-5 times and not once have we gotten everything we've asked for. It's all on the receipt, but certainly not in the bag. We called to get a refund for the chicken that wasn't on our chicken salad this time and were told that all they could do was offer a credit for a future salad. There will be no future salad. We've given Fresco multiple chances and I've had it... we're broken up and you'll never hear from me again... not even after a few drinks. Goodbye Fresco.

Had a great lunch with a friend at Fresco today! Sat outside on their patio - it was beautiful out and it was way too noisy inside. It's a little pricey but the salads that we had were fresh, tasty and artfully presented. I will definitely be stopping in again!

My son & I came here on 7/6/14 for lunch. The restaurant's atmosphere was vibrant & nice. Our server Kelly was nice and professional, but the only thing was it seemed they were understaffed and some rude staff members and we both felt it wasn't attentive as were use to. For our lunch we both ordered two Gyros, first off the gyro meat was dried out, way too much Tzatziki sauce and the tomatoes were flavorless, our fries were crispy and hot but my son had hardly any on his plate just small pieces. My son is a culinary professional assessed a lot of pros & cons of this establishment. He also ordered Baklava and was one of the worst baklava we've ever had, extremely disappointing, was overpowered by cinnamon, Traditional Baklava does not have that and where's the sweet honey syrup at??? Hope management and ownership makes this right... It was truly disappointing

Went last night and had wonderful food on the terrace on a gorgeous night. It's our new go to place for casual dining. We were a party of four and all had salads -- raves across the board. We started with some wings and rings, both good. Being a summer night, we were so happy with the salads but the pizzas and pastas looked great -- we'll try them in the Autumn. It's a BYOB -- so bring some. Service needs to get a bit better but the food makes up for it. A great find if you're not too far from Newtown Square, going to the Media or Hedgerow Theatres, or coming back from the Airport.

We live kind of far from Fresco in Newtown Square. BUT: When I called I was So freaking happy to find out they would delver to Crystal Forrest ( a development in Springfield Pa off Crum Creek road )..the pizza is as good as Piccas !!! The filet sliders r insane .. The Burgers , salads .. All r excellent .. No where around us has the same quality for delivery .. For many many years we ordered take out from Cascada on sproul rd ( I'd rate this a 2 star) .. Never Again !!!! Thank u Fresco for venturing into our territory ., u now control it...

I have mixed feelings about this place - went with 3 girlfriends, and most of us loved our food. The presentation is impeccable! However, it seemed like some of the chicken was a bit undercooked. Also, the wait staff didn't seem friendly. Would be willing to go back, but wasn't dazzled

Not sure why we keep ordering from this place. Maybe because it's near our office in Ellis Preserve and it has some more variety than other pizza joints. AGAIN I'm staring at a not-really-melted reuben sandwich and flat out cold fries. For $11 plus a delivery fee AND tip it's ridiculous. Also, no ketchup, no napkins were included in the bag. I'm sure the food doesn't come out stone cold at the restaurant, but if the staff is as surly as the people who take orders on the phone it will still not be a great experience.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
